It’s likely that you have been hearing the state of our environment and ways to improve conditions for years now. As much as there are faults with the current state of things it is undeniable that there are important efforts being made.
One such example of this are laws being formed: German laws have been passed that allow easier solar panel installments involving apartments. In restaurants you will likely find paper straws as well as environmentally friendly to-go containers.
As seen in this prior example it is critical to utilize alternative products opposed to other consumer products that can be harmful to the environment. As stated by PDI Institution 80% of consumers are concerned about the environmental impact the items they buy have. Due to this, it is important to spread awareness of available ways to support environmental health. An ongoing issue currently prevalent to the
Hudson valley is the spraying of pesticides. An invasive species known as Gypsy moths makes spraying pesticides a possible solution. However, spraying pesticides would deal with the invasive species but damage the local eco-systems.
Spreading awareness of local and important issues in creative and traditional ways is a vital mission to “Hudson’s tomorrow.” A way that our organization has worked towards this goal is through community trash pickups around the local Hudson Valley area. Although these issues and improvements may seem meager, it is of the utmost importance that we continue to strive for environmental health as a group, community, and human race.
